Under this year's theme, as in previous years, we will present numerous interesting contributions from representatives of well-known companies in the energy sector and the new AfricaConnect funding instruments, which the Federal Minister Dr. Gerd Müller for Economic Cooperation and Development announced on June 4, 2019 in the AXICA Congress and Conference Center, Pariser Platz in Berlin.
One of the two main speakers this year is the managing director of the Tanzania Renewable Energy Association - TAREA, Dr. Matthew Matimbwi. He not only advises over 500 members of the association in his home country, he is also responsible for the standardization of the standards and norms of the renewable energy sector in the entire East African region. As an investigative body for the Ministry of Energy, the association is responsible for spying on technically defective and over-defined solar modules and storage systems. Thanks to his knowledge of the subject matter, he has identified a number of dubious companies and brought those responsible to justice. He regularly travels to the countries of the East African Economic Community, including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia, and is not an uncommon guest in Germany. He will share his many years of experience in the renewable energy sector with those present in impeccable German. He will be available to provide advice and support to those interested the day after the forum.
Ministerial Director Ulrich Beyer, Head of the Federal and International Relations, Europe, Media Department of the Saxon State Chancellery, will report on the increased role of the state government's development cooperation. The state has resolved to become more involved in development policy and is looking for a partner region in Africa.
AfricaConnect - the experienced speaker, Verick Schick from the Agency for Business and Development in Berlin, talks about the opportunities to develop the continent.
The very charming Ms. Bienvenue Angui, Managing Director of the SME Alliance Africa, BVMW, is an expert on francophone Africa. She will report on her trip and the meeting between the Senegalese President and German companies. She will also report on some of the twelve African countries in which the new investment funds for the future market of Africa are taking effect.
Growth in Africa is moving forward inevitably. Thomas Rolf GIZ speaks at the interface between companies and development policy - economic and social development and digitalization.
Last but not least, the equally charming entrepreneur from Tajikistan, Ms. Gulanor Odilbekova, speaks with the energy professional, Dr. Diebels, about the 9 MW Pamir Energy hydroelectric power plant. The women from Africa, Asia and Boston, USA, make a joint appeal to small and medium-sized businesses in Germany to support aspiring women so that social development can be even better globally.
